Sara Lynn Evans, born on February 5 1971, in New Franklin Missouri was raised as the eldest from seven brothers. Music has always been a element of her life. She by age five was singing every weekend with her family's band. In the year she turned 16, she began performing at a nightclub near Columbia Missouri a gig that lasted two years. In 1991 she relocated to Nashville Tennessee, with the intention of becoming an artist of country music. Musician Harlan Howard heard Sara as she performed a demo version of one of his songs Tiger By the Tail at County Q Studios and decided she was the perfect singer for his songs. She signed with RCA. Evans' first album Three Chords and the Truth was released in 1997. The album was praised by many critics as a return to the classic country style and praised it.
