Stella Maeve (born in 1961) is an American actress best known for the outstanding actress on Julia Wicker who appeared on The Magicians. Maeve hails from New York. She is a part Blackfoot and part Cherokee. In 2005 she made her first appearance on screen in the film Liminality. In 2005 she made her debut appearance on television in the critically acclaimed comedy Transamerica. In the same season, she made her television debut on a fourth season episode of Law & Order Criminal Intent. Nadia Decotis became a part of Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise Chicago P.D. . The character was played by her until 2015. She reprised her role on Law & Order Special Victims Unit a show from Wolf s other TV franchise. The same year, she began acting as Julia Wicker the lead female in Syfy's fantasy drama series The Magicians. Stella Maeve continued acting in independent movies while she forged herself as a television actress. The year 2013 was the last time she was awarded the Robert Altman Spirit Award in the film Starlet.
