Annette Funicello did not only sing or act, but also performed. Her most famous work is being one of the Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. As a teenager, Annette began to sing and became a household name for her hit songs, 'TallPaul' and Pineapple Princess'. Annette was brought up in Utica by Italian-immigrant parents. She was shy as a young child. She wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment business, and quickly switched the stage and began to dance. At the beginning of the 1950s, she became famous for appearing in several "Disneysketch shows. Annette's Disney persona faded at the age of 18 when she started playing roles for adults. Her most famous role was one of the actors who pioneered"beach parties" and the "beach party" genre. The films she appeared in included 'Pajama Party', 'How to stuff a wild bikini', and 'Beach Party'. She continued to make music albums. Annette was diagnosed as having MS in 1992.
